Description
The Fattenin' Frogs will bring roots rock and roll to 2nd Street Stage Thursday, July 17. The Fattenin' Frogs play rock and roll music in its original spirit by turning up the intensity on traditional American music. With a style developed by mixing blues, country, folk, R&B, gospel, bluegrass and jazz from the first half of the 20th century and flavoring it with 1960s rock & roll, the band aims to bring rock music back to its roots. Expect to hear a mix of original songs and interpretations of classics. The Fattenin' Frogs want the show to be about more than just the music. Be ready to sing, clap and dance along and celebrate the great tradition of American music. The Fattenin' Frogs were formed by Berek Awend, Chris Holm and Mark Larson in early 2009. Today its members are Awend (guitar, piano, vocals), Danielle Scofield (vocals), Holm (vocals, harmonica, banjo, guitar), Amanda White (vocals), Larson (drums, hollerin'), Amanda Awend (vocals, mandolin) and Paul "Hot Sauce" DeLong (bass guitar). Sponsored by the Park Rapids Downtown Business Association and State Bank, 2nd Street Stage continues from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursdays through Aug. 21 with free live bands, a beer garden and family activities. Please bring your own chair.
