Description
All parents want their children to be healthy and safe. It is with this spirit of love and concern that parents should take time to understand the harmful effects of underage drinking. By learning how the young brain develops and how drinking affects teen health, parents will be better able to protect their teens from its adverse consequences.
During this presentation, Dr. David Walsh will translate cutting edge brain science for anyone working with youth to help understand.
• What's going on inside young brains that makes them act the way they do.
• Why young people engage in risky behavior.
• The impact of alcohol and drugs on the young brain.
• How alcohol, drugs, and digital technology can "hijack" the brain.
• How digital technology is changing young people's world.
• Explore the everyday implications for professionals working with young people.
