Description
The Hubbard United Methodist Church Choir will present its annual Christmas Cantata worship service at the church in Hubbard.
The program, “I Wonder … Who’s Going to Build a Manger,” will feature both familiar and new choral anthems. The choir is under the direction of Jennie Anderson of Nevis, and will be accompanied by pianists Cheryl Steinborn of Park Rapids and Terry Greenawalt of Nevis, and percussionist Bill Mohn of Detroit Lakes. Rod Nordberg of Park Rapids will serve as the narrator.
Deb Haagenson of Park Rapids will sing the soprano solo in John Rutter’s arrangement of “I Wonder as I Wander.” Other choral numbers include: “The Celtic Rose” arranged by Sheldon Curry; “The Colors of Winter” by Joseph M. Martin, and “Somebody Build a Manger” by Joel Raney.
“The Christmas Cantata has become a tradition at the church,” explained the Rev. Laurie Kanatonen, pastor. “The concert is a gift to the congregation and to the community.”
The public is invited to the service and to the fellowship reception following the cantata.
