Menahga School
A salute to area veterans will be held at 9 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 8 in the Menahga High School gym.
The public is invited to attend the event, which will pay tribute to veterans who have served during peacetime or non-combat times.
Menahga VFW Post #6206 Color Guard and the Park Rapids Area Marine Corps League will present the colors.
Both the Menahga High School band and choir will perform patriotic salutes, along with the fifth grade choir.
The program will feature speakers Major Julia Livingston and Staff Sergeant Levi Tormanen.
A Veterans Day poem will be presented by Dan Besonen as a tribute to the armed forces. Patriot’s Pen Essay Contest winner Julia Lake and Voice of Democracy Audio Essay Contest winner Isabelle Aho will be recognized.
Coffee and rolls will be served at the Menahga VFW following the program.
