SUMMARY:A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens (Long Lake Theater)
DESCRIPTION:Long Lake Theater to Present Traditional Christmas Carol\n\n \n\nThe holiday favorite is back at Long Lake Theater! Cast members from Nevis\, Menahga\, and Park Rapids come together on December 5th through the 15th in Hubbard to present the long time favorite.\n\n\n\nThis year's family presentation includes a choral music segment under the direction of Brian Hobson\, complimentary hot cider and chocolate\, and of course\, several varieties of Christmas goodies.\n\n\n\n"This has always been a popular show for us. I'm really glad we're bringing it back\," says Bruce Bolton\, theater manager. "Every time we produce this show we tend to get a lot of groups and families that want tradition around the holidays." \n\n \n\nThe classic Dickens tale of the transformation of Ebenezer Scrooge was first published in 1843. It has never been out of print and has been adapted to film\, stage\, opera\, and other media multiple times.\n\n \n\nExperienced actor and director Bryan Gallagher\, who joined the Long Lake Theater troop this summer as an actor and stage manager\, is the director. Long Lake Theater will be beginning it's 13th year in operation.\n\n\n\n"As far as I know\, there are only two theaters in the Midwest that produce this show on a regular basis\, Long Lake Theater in Hubbard and The Guthrie Theater in Minneapolis. They do call us from time to time for advice\," says Bolton with a wink.
