John\, whose father was a forester\, has been observing nature closely for many years. He serves now as staff phenologist at KAXE/KBXE Northern Community Radio with studios in Grand Rapids and Bemidji. In addition to his weekly radio program\, John also writes a phenology column for the University of Minnesota Extension online publication\, "My Minnesota Woods"\, and for a Duluth publication\, "The Senior Reporter".\n \n Time: 11 am 12 pm\n \n Held in the Jacob V. Brower Visitor Center classroom\n \n \n\n Lantern Lit Night Hike Minnesota's state symbols is the theme of this year's lantern lit hike. Guides with lanterns will lead you down the lantern-lit trail to meet characters during this family-friendly evening hike. Group hikes will last about 30 minutes\, with registration for hikes beginning at 6:00 pm. The first hike leaves at 6:30 pm and the last hike begins at 8:10 pm. Suitable for all ages! Children must be accompanied by an adult.
