DESCRIPTION:Join the Friends of Itasca State Park during the peak of fall colors for an event-filled\n\nafternoon Saturday\, Oct. 5. All are welcome to attend the Friends of Itasca State Park's\n\nannual meeting at 1 p.m. at the Jacob V. Brower Visitor Center classroom to learn about\n\npark activities - past\, present and future. Then from 3 to 4 p.m. the Friends will host\n\n"Spiders Demystified!" with author\, naturalist\, retired science teacher and spider\n\nenthusiast Larry Weber\, also at the Jacob V. Brower Visitor Center. We see Spiders\n\naround our homes and parks regularly\, but we do not get good information about them.\n\nJoin Weber for his presentation on what a Spider is (and is not). The program will look\n\nat the anatomy of Spiders\; both exterior and interior. Weber also will give the audience a\n\nlook at some of the more common Spider families we are likely to encounter. And we\n\nwill examine the typical life cycle of Spiders. Weber will be available to autograph copies\n\nof his book\, "Spiders of the North Woods\," after the program. The Friends of Itasca\n\nState Park are sponsoring Itasca Getaway\, a raffle to benefit Itasca State Park. This\n\nyear's proceeds will go toward the cost of replacing playground equipment at the\n\nswimming beach and will be sold Saturday at Friends' events until the drawing at 4:30\n\np.m. at the Jacob V.
