DESCRIPTION:If you like roast pork\, corn-on-the-cob and homemade pie\, you will want to attend the annual Pig Roast hosted by the Hubbard United Methodist Church on August 13\, 2015\, from 4 to 7 p.m. in Hubbard.\n\n\n\n     Pink pigs will soon be spotted around town\, announcing the annual fund raising event that supports a number of local\, state and national mission programs of Hubbard's United Methodist Women (UMW).\n\n\n\n     "We are proud that the money raised from this event goes to those most in need\, especially in Hubbard County\," said Karen Lundstrom of Nevis\, chair of the kitchen crew and a member of UMW. Tickets are $12 for adults\, $5 for children five to 10\, and free for children under five.\n\n\n\n      The "all hands on deck event" is an intensive undertaking for the local congregation\, with most of the members of the church involved in the preparation\, cooking or serving of the dinner.\n\n\n\n     "Last year we served more than 600 meals\," said the Rev. Laurie Kantonen\, pastor of the church\, which recently celebrated its 125th anniversary.  "It requires a lot of hard work\, but it is a wonderful opportunity for our members to visit with friends and neighbors\, and to meet new people."\n\n\n\n The menu also includes potato salad\, broccoli salad\, fresh rolls and a wide variety of homemade pies."
