Go out the North Entrance to Itasca State Park\, entrance is on the east side of the North Entrance Road (across from the church and gas station).*Tour begins promptly at 10 a.m.\n\n \n\nGet a feel for the early 1900s community of Lake Itasca at the Lake Itasca Region Pioneer Farmers Showgrounds (LIRPF). See the Itasca Historic Sawmill. Explore various buildings including a country school\, dove-tail one-room log house and a logging museum.\n\n \n\nFive Facts in Five Minutes: Wild Rice\n\nSaturday\, July 21\, 2018 from 10 a.m.-Noon\n\n\n\nNear the Mississippi Headwaters (under the porch of the Mary Gibbs Mississippi Headwaters Center if rain.)\n\n \n\nOnly have a minute to learn about Itasca State Park? Stop at the naturalist station and explore wild rice with Annette Drewes\, DNR Clean Water Specialist as you visit the Headwaters of the Mississippi River.\n\n \n\nJr. Naturalist: Busy Beavers\n\nSaturday\, July 21\, 2018 from 2-2:45 p.m.\n\n\n\nMeet at the lakeside Museum Amphitheater\, below Wegmann's Store in the picnic grounds\, (If raining\, meet inside lakeside Museum).\n\n \n\nBeavers are nature's engineers. Learn all about the beaver and the amazing adaptations it has to live its life in the water.\n\n \n\nBlack Bears\, Campfire\n\nSaturday\, July 21\, 2018 from 7-7:30 p.m.\n\n\n\nMeet at the lakeside Museum Amphitheater in the picnic grounds\; if raining\, held inside the Jacob V. Brower Visitor Center\n\n \n\nBlack bears are amazing animals! Join the naturalist as we learn more about the critter that can sleep for up to 7    months without food or water.
