SUMMARY:Kitchen Sink Productions: "Two Rooms" at The Depot
DESCRIPTION:Written by Minnesota-based playwright Lee Blessing\, "Two Rooms" is a story about Michael Wells\, a professor at a university in the Middle East who is taken hostage and held by terrorists in a windowless cubicle in Beirut. His wife\, Lainie\, has returned to the United States while the State Department works for his release. In their home\, Lainie has stripped a room of furniture so that\, at least symbolically\, she can share his ordeal. While a coolly efficient State Department representative makes Lainie aware of the larger equation\, an ambitious reporter prods her to use the power of the press to overcome the State Department's inaction. Lainie is finally goaded by unforeseen developments to speak out against government policy and\, in so doing\, triggers events that bring the play to its startling conclusion. "Two Rooms" will be performed in The Depot\, 320 Career Path\, Park Rapids\, Oct. 4-6. Tickets are available online at www.kitchensinkproductions.org\, and you can follow KSP on Facebook and Instagram or email them at mnkitchensink@gmail.com.
