DESCRIPTION:Come join us at The Hangar for a fun and unique Lunch & Learn! Our topics will be Addressing Stress (Quiz)\, Self Reflection\, and Building Your Resiliency.\n\n\n\nLimited Spots Available   register online here or call now to reserve your spot at 218-732-4111\n\n\n\nLunch will be provided by Angelic Enterprises Coffee Shop & Bakery and is included in the cost. You will have the choice of Chicken Salad\, Ham\, or Turkey served on homemade buns\, with chips and a brownie. Lettuce\, cheese\, and miracle whip served on the side.\n\n \n\n\n\nAbout Brenda:\n\nBrenda Mack\, DSW\, MSW\, LICSW\, is an Assistant Professor and the Director of Field\n\nEducation in the Social Work Department at Bemidji State University (BSU).\n\nShe has Bachelor and Master of Arts degrees in Social Work from the University of North Dakota\n\nand a Doctorate in Social Work from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul\, MN. She\n\nis a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker through the Minnesota Board of Social\n\nWork.\n\n \n\nBrenda's scholarly work focuses on helping those in education\, health\, and human\n\nservices address stress\, burnout\, and wellness through relational and individualized\n\nresiliency-building strategies. She emphasizes the importance of organizational and\n\nmanagerial approaches to support the well-being of those in the workforce. She\n\nconducted a research study in the summer of 2019 with social workers' supervisors\n\nabout these topics and wrote an article discussing her findings\, which was published in\n\nthe March 2022 edition of the National Association of Social Work's Research journal.\n\nBrenda developed the Resiliency-Focused Supervision Model   (RFSM) for health and\n\nhuman services supervisors and wrote an article describing the framework that was\n\npublished the fall 2020 issue of the Advances in Social Work journal. Brenda was\n\nselected as a 2021 National Rural Health Association (NRHA) Fellow and in 2022\n\nserves on the NRHA Governance Affairs Committee as a behavioral health expert. She\n\nhas been heavily involved with the Cultivating Resiliency Collaboration for Women in\n\nAgriculture\, where she addresses the topics of stress\, wellness\, and resiliency through\n\nwebinars and monthly virtual coffee chats. In November 2017\, Brenda received the\n\noutstanding service award from the Minnesota Association of Children's Mental Health\n\nand in August 2018 Minnesota Monthly magazine identified her as an Innovative\n\nEducator. She loves teaching and leading in higher education\, both on-campus and\n\nonline.\n\n \n\nBrenda was born and raised in a farming family in Northwestern Minnesota and is\n\nmarried to a fourth-generation crop farmer. She splits her time between Crookston\, MN\n\nand Potato Lake\, MN and enjoys being with family\, lake life\, kayaking\, loon-watching\,\n\npickleball\, reading\, writing\, presenting\, and traveling.
