DESCRIPTION:Gail Katz James\n\nOpening Reception Sat. September 2\n\n\nThis Saturday\, September 2nd the Nemeth Art Center will celebrate an exhibit in their Community Gallery by Minnesota sculptor Gail Katz-James. \n\n\n\nGail Katz-James is an artist based out of Minneapolis.  Her sculptures\, made of steel\, wire\, hardware and found objects\, are rooted in the textile traditions like quilting\, weaving\, lacemaking and knotless netting. Gail focuses on the transformation of materials from their familiar context into surfaces and structures. She combines welding with hand manipulated textile processes\, such as wire work and beading.\n\n\n\nThe Katz-James reception starts at 4:30 for NAC members and will run from 5:30 - 7 pm for the general public.  This is the final opening reception at the NAC this season.
