DESCRIPTION:Bemidji Brass Quintet\, members are Kyle Riess\, Trumpet\; Alyssa Konecne\, Trombone\; Steve Radley\, Bass Trombone\; Eve Sumsky\, Horn\; Craig Swartz\, Trumpet.\nThe Noon Hour Concert on Thursday\, June 26 at Calvary Lutheran Church 12:15t to 112:45 features the Bemidji Brass Quintet. The group was formed in 2017\, a vision of Kyle Riess\, to create a brass ensemble in the area\, providing the opportunity to play fun\, high-quality brass chamber music for local and regional audiences.\n \n\nThe group is composed primarily of local community members\, who also play in the Bemidji Symphony Orchestra\, and has evolved to include players from Bemidji State University and players in other regional ensembles.\n \n\nThe quintet enjoys performing a diverse selection of music including sacred\, musical theater and cinema\, contemporary\, jazz\, and standard brass quintet repertoire. \n \n\nThe group performs regularly at various venues in the Bemidji and Park Rapids areas\, including local and state parks\, breweries\, local coffee houses\, schools\, weddings\, graduations\, hospital\, senior living facilities\, and has been a regular guest of area church recitals for several years.\n \n\nThe Bemidji Brass Quintet is one of a very few ensemble groups in this area to consistently provide free musical performances for the community. \n \n\nOur set for the 2025 summer season includes a diverse collection of music including Kevin McKee's "Vuelta del Fuego" (Ride of Fire)\, Gabrielli's Canzona per Sonare No 4\, and St. Louis Blues.\n\nNo admission\, A free will offering will be taken.
