DESCRIPTION:Celebrate America's Birthday in Park Rapids!  \n\nThe Park Rapids Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce & Tourism 4th of July parade is scheduled to start at 11 AM. The parade\, which will highlight over 70 participants\, will feature the theme of "Salute to the Troops   Heroes in our Hearts" in recognition of Independence Day.\n\n\n\nMarine Corps veteran Lou Schultz\, who served in the Korean War\, will be the parade's grand marshal and lead a military assembly organized by American Legion Post #212. Adeline Bjorklund\, a sophomore at Nevis High School\, will perform the national anthem on the stage near Pioneer Park when Schultz and the color guard reach Main Ave.\n\n\n\nFeaturing the New York Mills Marching Eagles band. This marching band has performed in the nation's second-largest St. Patrick's Day parade in Chicago\, the National 4th of July Parade in Washington\, D.C.\,  the Calgary Stampede in Alberta\, Canada\, and numerous shows at Walt Disney World in Orlando.\n\n\n\nNew this year\, spectators will have the opportunity to vote for the most patriotic and most creative parade participants. The 4th of July Parade Float Voting Contest\, presented by Birdie's Mini-Golf and the Gartner Real Estate Team\, will open at 11 am on July 4th and close at 12 pm on July 5. The link to the voting form will be available on this page starting July 4th. \n\n\n\nVote for your favorite 4th of July Parade Float \n\nOpen July 4 at 11 am through July 5 at 12 pm\n\n\n\nParade Route - Starting on Fair Ave near the main entrance of the Hubbard County Fairgrounds\; 2nd St. to Main Ave.   Main Ave. to 8th St.   8th St. to Fair Ave. and disbursing back at the Fairgrounds. The parade route\, as well as emergency and non-emergency routes\, can be viewed and downloaded using the image below. \n\nDue to the Fair Avenue construction project the route is subject to change.
