Registration starts at 1:00 pm
Itasca State Park
Jacob V. Brower Visitor Center
Gather at Itasca State Park during the peak of fall colors for a family fun afternoon. Sponsored by the Friends of Itasca State Park, the Walk commemorates Ozawindib, the Ojibwe guide who led Henry R. Schoolcraft to the Headwaters of the Mississippi River in 1832. Proceeds from the walk registration go toward interpretive and resource management projects within the Park. With your registration fee, participants will receive an official Ozawindib Walk t-shirt.
Participants will follow a 3.5 mile walk route and can either walk on their own or join the naturalist lead tour to learn more about Ozawindib. The course is well marked.
