This will be the 62nd annual celebration of the big lunker that once ruled the waters of Lake Belle Taine. A 5K run, horseshoe tourney, scavenger hunt for families, art in the park, food stands, buffalo chip throwing contest, watermelon seed spitting contest, kids' games, parades and a street dance are some of the activities to participate in.
An all-you-can-eat community fish fry will kick off the festival with fish and trimmings served from 5 to 8 pm Friday in Muskie Park.
On Saturday there will be a pancake breakfast at the Senior Citizens Center from 8 am to 11 am. A horseshoe throwing contest will be at 9 am and the alumni softball tournament is from 9 am to noon. An ice cream eating contest is at 3 pm.
The grand parade is at 6 pm and the alumni basketball game/tournament is from 7 to 9 pm in Tiger Arena. The alumni volleyball tournament is from 7 to 9 pm in the original gym. This is just a partial list of the events being held.
Sunday's events include services at the area's churches and a softball/kickball tournament from noon to 5 pm
