Arts Downtown PR (3rd Thursdays)

Description

The Arts Downtown PR series continues from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, March 15 in downtown Park Rapids. 

Pianist Jason Wright will be featured from 5 to 5:30 and 6 to 6:30 p.m. at Bella Caffè, 116 3rd Street West. Wright shines a new light on familiar sacred melodies with his unique, peaceful style. For the past eight years, Jason has been located in New Prague, where he performed and taught private piano and voice lessons. He has newly relocated to Menahga and has enjoyed meeting other local musicians. Wright is continuing his work with the nationally recognized pianists, Tim and Ryan O’Neill, selling music, editing sheet music and traveling as an associate pianist to promote their albums. He will be performing a blend of sacred, familiar and Irish music. CDs will be available during the performance and Wright will be available to autograph copies afterward.

The new band, Better Than Nothin’, will play classic rock from 5:30 to 6 and 6:30 to 7 p.m. at The Good Life Cafe, 220 South Main Avenue. Members are Alex Ziemann, lead guitar and vocals; Roger Fenzel, lead singer and guitar; Jerry Snow, bass guitar and vocals; and Brian Hitchcock, drums and vocals. This will be their first acoustic show.

Arts Downtown PR will celebrate National Poetry Month April 19.
