Description
In preparation for our February 10, 2018 Leech Lake Frostfest - join us for our very first community brew day and wort giveaway for this homebrew competition at Portage Brewing Company.
On December 2nd at 10AM, in collaboration with the Upstream Hombebrewers Club, we will kickoff first phase of this competition. Brewing a base stout recipe, all competition attendees must bring at least (1) 5 gallon sanitized carboy to the brewery, which will be filled with wort and gifted to you for experimentation. You must be present before cooling and transfer of the wort completes (about 2:30PM). Ferment, age, or infuse the beer however you'd like. If interested, please fill this (https://goo.gl/forms/
On the day of the competition, all homebrewers who've entered the competition will have a chance to sample and share their brews with the attendees of our event. A rank voting ballet will be given to each attendee, whereas they will chose their top 3 favorite beers. After the event has ended, the scores will be tallied, and the winner will be invited back to brew his/her recipe for commercial production on Portage's 5BBL system.
