Learn about fun facts of the Mississippi Headwaters during this short naturalist-led walk to the Headwaters of the Mississippi River.
Dragonflies Car Tour: Minnesota’s Treasures SNA Specialty Tour

Meet inside the Jacob V. Brower Visitor Center classroom (bring your vehicle to drive to tour location)
Explore natural treasures in Minnesota’s Scientific and Natural Areas (SNAs) on this specialized car tour along Wilderness Drive. Meet inside the classroom as we quickly learn about the life cycle of dragonflies. Then get in your vehicle as we drive to Nicollet Creek and Elk Lake along Wilderness Drive in search of this week’s dragonflies. We will be using nets to capture and study the interesting dragonflies that are attracted to the old growth pine forest of the Wilderness Sanctuary SNA.

Notes: Pre-registration required. Bring insect repellant, sunscreen, and drinking water. Bring your vehicle for travel to SNA locations.
