10:30–11 a.m. Junior Naturalist Program: Busy Beavers!
For more information or to register, email Naturalist Sandra at Sandra.d.lichter@state.mn.us Beavers are busy mammals that have really cool adaptations that help them survive in the water. Take the beaver challenge and then a short walk to the beaver’s habitat. Space is limited for this program. You must register by Thursday, August 27 at 5 p.m.
1:30–2:30 p.m. Old Timer’s Cabin and the Civilian Conservation Corp
(come-and-go at your leisure) Held at the Old Timer’s Cabin, located along the boardwalk of Dr. Roberts Trail, below Douglas Lodge. Only 4 (massive) logs tall, learn more about this Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) constructed building as well as what life was like in the CCC. Feel free to stop by at your leisure.
