One Vegetable - One Community Kickoff

Description

Through the University of MN Extension, One Vegetable, One Community (OVOC) unites our community by encouraging gardeners of all levels to plant, grow, cook, and/or share a featured vegetable of the year. OVOC starts conversations about food and how we can all support healthy lifestyles. 

The aim is to see the featured vegetables grow in each corner of the Park Rapids Lakes Area. Gardens can be all shapes and sizes! Vegetables can be grown in your own garden, school gardens, community gardens, containers on front porches and kitchen gardens, as well as in front of businesses and faith-based organizations, among other locations. 

This year's featured vegetable is Green Beans, Purple Beans and Pole Beans!
