Description
Warm Up to a Fun Winter Weekend Event
Celebrate the magic of winter at a Snow Sculpture Event Saturday, Feb. 15, and
Sunday, Feb. 16, in Depot Park, Park Rapids.
Hosted by the City of Park Rapids and Park Rapids Arts and Culture Advisory
Commission, this event invites six teams to each transform a single large block of snow
into a unique, creative sculpture of their choice.
Whether you're experienced or just looking for a fun winter challenge, this is your
chance to showcase your creativity.
The first six teams to register will be selected, with two alternates as backups. So,
don’t wait to sign up! Entry forms are available at http://ci.park-rapids.mn.us/ or at City
Hall. The deadline to enter is Friday, Feb. 7.
Participants must bring their own tools, such as small chainsaws, chisels, rasps,
saws, or shovels. Please note that no electricity is available.
The snow blocks will be ready for carving when the sun is up Saturday morning, with
judging is set for noon on Sunday.
Sculptors are encouraged to get creative with their team names, which will be
featured during the event. Teams can consist of individuals or groups, including families,
businesses, nonprofits, or school organizations.
Awards will be given, so gather your tools, your team, and your ideas to join the fun.
Hilltop Lumber of Park Rapids is sponsoring the event.
Make a weekend of it by attending the Lydia Rose Concert at 7 p.m. Saturday, Feb.
15, at the Armory Arts and Events Center.
Depot Park is located at 210 3rd Street East, east of Hugo’s Family Marketplace.
