Winter visitor center hours: Sundays 12:00- 4:00 pm January 5-February 23. The visitor center is located 9 miles north of the junction of County Hwy 34 and County Hwy 29. For more information on the refuge and events go to www.fws.gov/refuge/tamarac. Events may be cancelled due to extreme cold or storm conditions. Sunday, Feb 2, 1:00- 3:00 PM Tamarac Ski Day hosted by the Detroit Lakes Nordic Ski Club

Meet at the Pine Lake Ski Trail parking area and ski either the 2 mile Tamarac Loop, the 6 mile Pine Lake Loop or the Wildlife Drive depending on your ability and time. There will be treats, cider and a warming fire at the parking area. Minnesota winters can be tricky so be sure to call/text 218-850-4886 or check Facebook/website for updates.
