Bus Driver

The Park Rapids School District is seeking a dedicated and reliable individual to join our team as a Bus Driver for Route 8. This full-time position is based at our Bus Garage, where you will play a crucial role in ensuring safe and efficient transportation for our passengers. The ideal candidate will possess excellent driving skills, a commitment to customer service, and a strong understanding of safety regulations.

Monday thru Friday, 3.25 hours/day, September through May

Responsibilities
- Operate the bus along designated Route 8, adhering to scheduled stops and ensuring timely arrivals.
- Ensure the safety of all passengers by following traffic laws and safety protocols at all times.
- Assist passengers with boarding and alighting, including those with disabilities or special needs.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the bus to ensure it is in safe operating condition.
- Maintain accurate records of passenger counts, incidents, and any maintenance issues.
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing passenger inquiries and concerns professionally.
- Report any accidents, incidents, or mechanical issues to management promptly.
- Attend training sessions and safety meetings as required to stay updated on regulations and best practices.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bus interior and exterior.

Requirements
- Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with passenger endorsement.
- Minimum of 2 years of driving experience, preferably in a bus or large vehicle.
- Strong knowledge of local traffic laws and regulations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle stressful situations calmly and effectively.
- Must pass a background check and drug screening.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- First Aid and CPR certification is a plus.
