Job Title: Shotgun Director at Camp Wilderness
Location: Park Rapids, MN
Start Date: June 5, 2025
End Date: July 20, 2025
Salary: $500 per week
Job Overview:
Camp Wilderness is seeking a Shotgun Director to oversee all aspects of our shotgun shooting program. The director will ensure a safe, enjoyable, and educational experience for campers, while leading a team of staff and managing the shooting range.
Key Responsibilities:
Program Management: Develop, implement, and supervise the shotgun shooting program, including merit badge instruction and open shoot sessions.
Staff Leadership: Recruit, train, and lead shooting sports staff, ensuring effective teamwork and a positive work environment.
Safety Compliance: Enforce safety protocols and regulations, ensuring a safe environment for participants, in line with BSA, NRA, and local safety guidelines.
Equipment Maintenance: Oversee the maintenance, inventory, and proper storage of all shotgun equipment and shooting range facilities.
Collaboration: Work closely with the Shooting Sports Director and camp leadership to integrate the shotgun program with other camp activities.
Qualifications:
Age Requirement: Must be at least 21 years old.
Experience: Prior experience in shotgun shooting sports is preferred.
Certifications: Possession of a valid BSA National Camping School Shooting Sports Director certification or NRA Shotgun Instructor certification is required. If not certified, the director must obtain certification before the camp season begins.
Physical Requirements: Ability to safely handle and instruct others in the use of shotgun equipment.
Emergency Preparedness: Ability to respond effectively to emergencies and maintain composure under pressure.
