Job Description:
The Mission of the Park Rapids Lakes Area Chamber is to serve, connect and promote our members.
 
We have a seat on our Board of Directors starting in January of 2022. Serving on the board is a rewarding experience and an opportunity for professional growth.
Board members are responsible for ensuring that the Park Rapids Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce is mission driven, financially responsible, and compliant with laws governing their non-profit status. They help to determine chamber policies, monitor progress, promote the organization, and oversee the President and its staff.

  • The term of office is three years.
  • The Board of Directors meets monthly, usually on the second Tuesday, from 8:00am to 9:00am
  • Officers are members of the Executive Committee and as such meet additionally as required
  • All Board Members are expected to take an active leadership role in the Chamber, which may include chairing a committee.
  • It is estimated that the time commitment for a Board Member is at least four hours a month.
  • Since the Board of Directors is responsible for directing the activities and functions of the Chamber, Board Members are expected to attend as many Chamber functions as possible. It is essential for Board Members to be connected to the membership of the Chamber through attendance at meetings, activities, and functions of the Chamber so they can make informed decisions.
