About Us

Heartland Arts (formerly Park Rapids Lakes Area Arts Council) has promoted excellence in the arts through creation, education and performance since 2005. In addition to serving as an umbrella organization to promote and support existing arts organizations, Heartland Arts sponsors annual events, including Art Leap, a driving tour of artists studios and other cultural destinations, and Noon Hour Concerts. Heartland Arts also sponsors the Medici Project to recognize and support artistic talent and growth for youth through stimulation, scholarship and enrichment. Heartland Arts has a vision to continue to expand opportunities to attract more people who are creatively gifted and is committed to our role in adding to quality of place as a strategy of creating an environment for the Heartland Lakes to succeed. Heartland Arts activities are funded by Region 2 Arts Council Grants through an appropriation by the Minnesota State Legislature and the Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund passed by Minnesota voters on Nov. 4, 2008.
