The League of Women Voters (LWV) of the Park Rapids Area will host a presentation on Minnesota’s climate and energy policies from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, March 16 at the Northwoods Bank Community Room. Guest speaker will be J. Drake Hamilton, science policy director of St. Paul-based Fresh Energy. For 25 years Fresh Energy has helped lead the state’s transition to a clean energy economy through advocacy, policy analysis and public outreach. This event is free and open to the public. A light meal will be available for a free will offering and exhibits will be open from 5:30 to 6 p.m. LWV is a nonpartisan volunteer organization supporting legislation that seeks to preserve the nation’s natural resources and protect public health from the effects of climate change.
