Assistant Mechanic

Park Rapids School District is seeking a Assistant Mechanic, preferred license in CDL with School Bus Endorsement for the 2024-2025 school year.  Candidates should have the ability to work as a team in coordinating the needs of the Transporation Department equipment and maintenance of the transportation fleet, as well as excellent verbal and written communication skills. We believe in supporting staff growth and program success.

This position is posted as a full time position year round.

A successful candidate will be able to implement the following: 
Under the supervision of the Transportation Director, the Assistant Mechanic will help the Lead Mechanic in maintaining the districts school buses, trucks, and other buildings and grounds equipment in a high state of readiness, to ensure all vehicles and equipment are in safe operating condition.

Training and Experience;

• High School diploma or GED certificate required
• Associates Degree, Diesel Mechanics
• Two years experience in diesel mechanics and transportation operations desired.
• Must have demonstrated computer skills and working knowledge of software applications.
