Dining Room Lead
JOB SUMMARY
Itasca State Park is seeking to build our team and fill multiple part-time, seasonal Dining Room Lead positions at the Douglas Lodge Restaurant located within Itasca State Park. Established in 1891, Itasca is the oldest state park in Minnesota and home to the headwaters of the Mississippi River. It is a top tourism attraction, welcoming over half a million visitors a year from all around the world.
The Douglas Lodge Restaurant has been serving area visitors since 1905. This historic lodge is nestled under tall pines near the shores of Lake Itasca. The menu features classic favorites with an emphasis in Minnesota ingredients.
Salary Range: $21.09 - $28.79 / hourly
Work Season: May-October (exact dates to be determined). Optional recall each season.
Work Schedule: Part-time. Includes weekends, evenings, and holidays.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead worker to wait staff. Includes opening / closing duties, assigning tasks, scheduling breaks, and training.
- Greet and direct restaurant customers. Includes seating and assisting wait staff with tasks as needed.
- Perform clerical, cleaning, and other duties as assigned by the Douglas Lodge manager.
- Operate Point of Sale (POS) system.
- Provide information to park visitors.

- One (1) year kitchen or restaurant experience
- Ability to effectively and efficiently lead and communicate between the front and back of house
- Math skills sufficient to calculate bills, provide change, and reconcile cash register receipts
- Proficient computer skills (e.g. Point of Sale system, Microsoft Office programs, internet, email)
- Knowledge of safety and accident prevention measures
- Ability to work as a positive and productive team member
- Communication and conflict resolution skills
- Time management and task coordination skills
