Essentia Health maintains Community Measures momentum, continues to demonstrate excellence in qualit

Essentia Health has again earned high marks across all clinical quality measures in the latest report from MN Community Measurement (MNCM). Released Feb. 28, the report is a statewide resource for timely, comparable information on health care quality, costs and equity. It highlights Essentia’s commitment to delivering excellent patient care and outcomes.
Based on data analyzed by MNCM for care delivered in 2023, Essentia scored above statewide averages on 19 of 20 Clinical Quality Measures, and average or above average on nine of 11 Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set (HEDIS) measures.


“The thoughtfulness and diligence that we put into our care allows us to achieve these results for the patients and communities we are privileged to serve,” said Essentia CEO Dr. David Herman.
 
One area of success is the colorectal cancer screening Clinical Quality Measure, where Essentia continues to excel, achieving a rate of 74.4% compared to the statewide average of 70.4%. Essentia also exceeded statewide averages in optimal asthma control, identifying and treating depression, breast cancer screening, diabetes eye exams, controlling high blood pressure – among others.
