Lunch Room Monitor

Century School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our team at Century Lower Elementary School as a Lunch Monitor. This part-time position plays a vital role in ensuring a safe, enjoyable, and orderly lunchtime environment for our students. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a commitment to fostering a positive atmosphere while supervising students during lunch periods.

Monday - Friday, approximately 10:45 am - 1:15 pm Century School Cafetorium

Responsibilities
- Supervise students during lunchtime in the cafeteria and outdoor areas, ensuring their safety and well-being.
- Encourage positive social interactions among students and promote respectful behavior.
- Assist students with their lunch routines, including opening containers and managing spills.
- Monitor students for any signs of distress or bullying and intervene as necessary.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the lunch area before, during, and after lunch periods.
- Communicate effectively with school staff and report any issues or concerns regarding student behavior or safety.
- Help facilitate a smooth transition between lunch and subsequent classes.
- Participate in training sessions and staff meetings as required.

Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience working with children, preferably in an educational setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with staff and students.
- Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude towards children.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and assist with light physical tasks.
- Must pass a background check and comply with school district policies.
- Availability to work during lunchtime hours on school days.
